Victory in Glynneath

Last night, Plaid Cymru candidate Phil Pendry became the newest member of Glynneath Town Council following a by-election for the West Central Ward.

The results were;

Phil Pendry (Plaid Cymru) - 60

Gerry Reynolds - 17

Marie Powell (Independent) - 16

Dai Richards (Independent) - 16

Jennifer Herbert (Independent) - 9

 

Following the result, Cllr Phil Pendry said;

"It is an honour to be elected by the residents of the West Central ward. I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout this campaign, and I promise to work hard for our community as a Town Councillor."

Sioned Williams, Member of the Senedd for South Wales West added;

"I want to send a massive congratulations to Phil Pendry for this excellent result. He and his team worked extremely hard over the last few weeks, and I have no doubt that he will be an excellent servant of the people of Glynneath."
